Knowledge Network at ICLEI South Asia plays a central role in supporting our vision of advancing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban development across the region. It acts as both an enabler and a connector—helping us capture, organize, and share valuable insights from our work.
At its core, Knowledge Network is responsible for joining the dots in our work, making it more palatable and translating it into practical, accessible resources. Whether it’s case studies, toolkits, reports, or digital content, these knowledge resources are designed to inform decision-making, spark new ideas, and support learning across governments at all levels, partners, and stakeholders.
Its work includes contributing to the capacity-building efforts, supporting peer learning, developing training materials, and help facilitating knowledge exchange—making sure that what we learn in one place can benefit others across the region. This not only strengthens the capabilities of local governments but also helps tailor global knowledge to local realities.
Internally, Knowledge Network plays a cross-cutting role by supporting collaboration across teams and projects. It helps us stay aligned, encourages shared learning, and reinforces a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
By sharing evidence-based insights and highlighting successful interventions, it supports our strategic communications, strengthens our presence in regional and global dialogues, and contributes to shaping urban sustainability discourse in South Asia.
In the larger scheme of things, it ensures that the work we do doesn’t remain siloed or static—it becomes part of a growing, evolving body of knowledge that others can build on. It’s a key part of how we scale impact, inform policy, and contribute meaningfully to the global sustainability agenda. At our core, we ensure that knowledge remains a powerful tool for action.
